About Me
Galina Chakarova is a London based film and television editor. She attended The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she wrote and directed several short films. Her very first film won a national contest and screened at the BFI London Film Festival as the opening piece to Justin Chadwick's film The First Grader.
Galina's editing work includes award winning shorts that have screened at festivals such as Aesthetica, Clermont - Ferrand, This is England, Edinburgh Short Film Festival, Bolton, British Shorts Berlin, Winterthur etc. She recently edited an episode of her first drama series Ragdoll for Sid Gentle Films and AMC. Galina has gained a vast experience in TV working as a First assistant editor on highly acclaimed series such as The Crown, Master of None and Patrick Melrose. Working with some of the best practitioners in the industry has taught her invaluable lessons about structure, pacing, building performances and shaping a good story. She applies these lessons in her own editing work and loves to collaborate on character driven projects, bold ideas and visual storytelling.
Galina is part of BFI Network x Bafta Crew 2021 and she is an assosiate member of the British Film Editors Guild (BFE).
