About Me
Galina Chakarova is a London based film and television editor. She attended The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she wrote and directed several short films. Her very first film won a national contest and screened at the BFI London Film Festival as the opening piece to Justin Chadwick's film The First Grader.
​
Galina's editing work includes award winning shorts that have screened at festivals such as Aesthetica, Clermont - Ferrand, BFI London Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Kurzfilmtage Winterthur etc. She has gained a vast experience in high-end television editing drama shows such as Rain Dogs (HBO), Ragdoll (AMC), Extraordinary S02 (Disney+) and Grime Kids (BBC3, premiering at BFI London Film Festival 2023). Galina is currently editing four episodes of Queenie (Chanel 4, Disney+), based on the bestselling novel by Candice Carty-Williams. Working with some of the best practitioners in the industry has taught her invaluable lessons about structure, pacing and shaping a good story. She loves to collaborate on brave and thought provoking projects. Galina has a strong eye for performances and enjoys building character arcs.

Galina is part of BAFTA Connect and she is an assosiate member of the British Film Editors Guild (BFE).
